Several North American producers have announced worldwide price increases for southern bleached softwood kraft (SBSK).
Georgia-Pacific of Atlanta announced a $20/tonne price increase for SBSK. The company increased the list price to $460/tonne last June, and will increase the price again to $480/tonne in July.
Other North American producers have also increased to $460/tonne for SBSK for June. Bowater Inc. increased by $10/tonne in the U.S., while Weyerhaeuser increased pulp prices in North America and Europe by $30/tonne.
Parsons & Whitemore has raised its June 1 SBSK price to $470/tonne, up $20/tonne.
All of the June announcements for northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp are for $500/tonne in the U.S. and $480/tonne in Europe, up $20/tonne from the May price announced by Weyerhaeuser and up $10/tonne announced by others.
