Kruger Inc. will curtail production at its Corner Brook, Nfld., newsprint mill for a period of two weeks starting October 12. Production is scheduled to resume on October 26. The shutdown is attributed to unfavorable market conditions, particularly the high value of the Canadian dollar and the low price of newsprint.

This curtailment will affect 530 employees – 380 in the mill and 150 in forest operations.
