Metso Paper supplied PM 4 paper machine at UPM Rauma mill has established a new world speed record. From June 15-16, the papermaking line ran at an average speed of 181m/min for a period of 24 hours, producing light-weight coated LWC paper with a basis weight ranging from 54 to 60 g/m2. The record was set during normal production running.

Supplied by Metso in 1998, the machine has a design speed of 1800 m/min and a wire width of 10,1 metres.
