Voith introduces new automatic format change solution for better winder performance

Voith launched FastFormat, a new solution for automatic format changes. FastFormat is designed to increase winder performance and ensure greater safety for operators. In addition, the company has launched an integrated technology service offering to increase winder performance in all applications. The company says in a press statement that this service offering is for higher winder availability.

The scope and content of the service offering are individually adapted to the respective requirements of each customer. An important part of the service offering is a 24/7 hotline support that provides customers with rapid assistance and solutions to problems.

With FastFormat, Voith is presenting its first product for fast and safe format changes. FastFormat has a return on investment of only a few months and is designed to help paper manufacturers avoid capacity losses due to frequent format changes, says Voith.

FastFormat allows the winder’s engaging edge slitters to be moved at crawl speed and the web width to be changed, enabling automated format changes without operator intervention.
