Apr. 18, 2018 – Voith says its new SkyCal doctor blades are designed for enhanced cleaning on Voith composite calendar covers.
According to Voith, hard carbon and a specially developed epoxy resin help ensure “consistently high, gentle cleaning of roll covers,” and as a result, broke and even production stoppages are reduced, noting that machine availability will be increased as manual cleaning of the cover is generally not required. SkyCal was developed with a special design and tailored for Voith calendar covers, Voith explains, saying SkyCal helps prevent deposits generated during paper production and protect the covers from damage. SkyCal is part of the Voith AdvancedPRODUCTS portfolio and according to Voith can be used in any paper machine regardless of manufacturer.
