White Birch Paper Company, North America’s second largest newsprint manufacturer, will be taking market related downtime at its Stadacona L.P. Division in Quebec City, Quebec beginning this Friday, March 20.

The shut is planned to last until April 6 and will result in a reduction of about 30,000 tonnes of newsprint.

A press release earlier this week stated the company will maintain adequate inventories so its customers will not experience any service interruptions during this period.
