Worker found dead at White Birch’s Quebec mill

October 15, 2018 – Investigators are looking into the cause of death of a 56-year old man at the White Birch Paper mill in Quebec City on Saturday.

The Montreal Gazette reports that local police are working with Quebec’s worker’s compensation board, the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST), to determine the chain of events that led to a colleague discovering the man unconscious on the floor just after 6:00 a.m. 

Police say that the cause of death was not a result of criminal activity.
