Resolute Forest Products shared in a recent statement that it raised $175,000 to support healthy, active communities in Quebec’s Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region.

The company notes that 150 employees, suppliers and collaborators joined forces to raise the money for three worthy organizations serving the region, where many of its employees and their families live and work. Participants chose between golfing or riding a local bike trail, the Véloroute des Bleuets. A spirit of camaraderie and community engagement prevailed throughout the events.

During a ceremony attended by local elected officials, Resolute executives presented $85,000 each to the Fondation du Centre Maria-Chapdelaine and the Fondation du Domaine-du-Roy, which improve patient care at the region’s hospitals, and $5,000 to Liberté à Vélo, which promotes the physical and environment benefits of active transportation. Each of these organizations plays a vital role in the lives of families in the region. Resolute says that it welcomes the opportunity to support their missions.
