Citing recent price hikes announced by a number of companies producing lightweight coated (LWC) paper, newsprint and recycled products, Deutsche Bank paper/forest product analyst Mark Wilde expects more companies to follow suit. In early April, Catalyst Paper Corp., AbitibiBowater Inc and NewPage Corp. announced a $60/ tonne LWC price increase, hard on the heels of price increases by Kruger Inc. and Finland’s Myllykosski Corp.
