Canfor is leading the way in road safety. According to a recent report by www.energecticity.ca, an online registry that facilitates the identification of unsafe driving by forestry and logging vehicles is hoped to crack down on bad driving.

“There’s no room on forestry roads for aggressive or careless driving,” the report confirmed Pat Bell, CEO of Canfor as saying. The Vehicle Identification Number Plates Program was spearheaded by the company, only to be taken up and expanded by Forestry TruckSafe. According to the energeticcity.ca report, registered vehicles display a special plate mounted to their front bumpers, which other drivers can use to tap into the registry and report poor driving.

While the program is voluntary, it has been adopted in many parts of BC, with roughly 5,000 vehicles currently registered.
