Workers at Tembec’s wood stud mill in Cochrane, ON can expect several more paycheques than they did last week. The facility, initially scheduled to close for five months at the start of November, will run until at least the end of the month, a report by the Daily News confirmed. The mill received new product and service orders that made continued production viable.

“It was a matter of opportunity in the marketplace,” the Daily News reported Richard Fahey, vice president of communications for Tembec as saying. “We were able to find some customers for the wood as well as some timber to process to produce the lumber that we sold in the marketplace.” The company did not confirm where the orders came from, other than they originated in North America.
