Ahlstrom Machine’s Fiberline Division in Glen Falls, NY, has been awarded a contract to supply its Lo-Solids cooking technology for Skeena Cellulose’s two continuous digesters at the mill in Prince Rupert, BC. The equipment is scheduled to become operational in June 2000.

Champion International Corp.’s mill in Bucksport, ME, has ordered a Raumaster roll-handling system for its two rewinders. This is the second installation of such equipment in North America, the first being the installation at Stora Enso’s mill in Port Hawkesbury, NS.

Voith Sulzer Automation, Los Gatos, CA, has recently made a number of alliances, including with Foxboro, a control system supplier; and with Fisher-Rosemount, a process management products and services supplier.

Groupe Lapierrire & Verreault Inc., Trois Rivires, QC, has acquired Cairo, GA-based National Refiner Plate Company, a maker of refiner plates used in the pulp refining process. Details of the deal were not released, but GL&V said that the acquisition will contribute about $3 million in revenues to its Pulp and Paper Group in 2000.
