A section of a Norampac mill located in Red Rock was damaged by a structural fire, at a cost of $1.5 million.

A section of a Norampac mill located in Red Rock was damaged by a structural fire, at a cost of $1.5 million.
The fire required the intervention of the Red Rock and Nipigon Volunteer Fire Departments before it was brought under control.
This Northern Ontario mill specializes in the production of kraft liner paper and has 430 employees. Fortunately the fire caused no injuries.
As a security measure, production at the plant was stopped temporarily.
