Fraser Papers temporarily shuts paper machine

April 7 marked the beginning of a temporary shutdown of Fraser Papers PM6 at its East Paper Operation.

April 7 marked the beginning of a temporary shutdown of Fraser Papers PM6 at its East Paper Operation.

Citing weak market conditions, the company expects the closure to be two weeks in duration.

The machine has a capacity of roughly 200 tons per day and primarily produces lightweight coated groundwood papers. The company plans to use the downtime to complete planned maintenance work.
