MARC-ANDRE DEPIN, current executive VP of Norampac Inc., is appointed president and CEO. He joined Norampac Inc. in 1997, as VP and chief operating officer, Corrugated Products, and VP, Sales and Marketing, Containerboard. He was appointed executive VP in Oct. 2001.

Unisource Worldwide, Inc., appointed ED FARLEY to VP, Uncoated Papers; MARK POTTER to VP, Coated Papers- Sheet Fed/Coated Board; KEN RUSSELL to VP, Coated Rolls, and DAVID BROWN to director, Marketing- Coated Papers.

Reporting to Farley, the new senior management team for the uncoated paper organization will be JOHN JOOSTEN, director, Commercial Printing/ Uncoated Papers; GARTH GEIST, director, Business Imaging; ROB CIACIURA, director, Marketing, and CHRIS CALL, director, Pricing and Forecasting.

Adhesives Research promoted JEFF ROBERTSON to Splicing Business Unit manager. He will be responsible for directing the business plan, supervise the splicing sales team and accomplishing revenue and profit objectives.

BONNIE HAWKINS-RICHTER will serve as national sales manager for the Splicing Business Unit. She will be responsible for sales activities and managing corporate accounts.

The National Council for Air and Stream Improvement announced that PASCALE LAGACE will be joining the Canadian operations as manager, Environmental Programs. For the past three years, Lagac has worked with Louisiana Pacific Canada Ltd., Division Qubec, as Plant Environmental Manager.

THOMAS P. PARK has been appointed managing director and CEO of Australia’s PaperlinX, effective February 1, 2004, to replace IAN WIGHTWICK, who will be retiring. After graduating from The Harvard Business School in 1974, Park worked in the U.S. in a number of roles. He transferred to Australia in 1981 and worked with General Foods and Kraft Foods until February 2000.

PAPTAC executive director WILLIAM ROBERT WOOD will take office as chairman of International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee 6 (ISO/TC6) for a three-year term beginning Jan. 2004. Succeeding GEORGE R. WEISS, Wood has represented the industry in a number of bodies including the Canadian General Standards Board, the Canadian Standards Association and the Standards Council of Canada.

CHUCK CARR was appointed managing director of communications for the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.

JEREMY CROGGON will retire as president of Omya Inc. in January 2004. WARREN MCPHILLIPS was appointed executive VP. LANE SHAW was appointed senior VP of Technology and Product Development in North America for both the Paper and Functional Products Groups. JOHN SCHOENER was appointed VP of Sales and Marketing for the North American paper business. STEVE STUECK will be director of Marketing for the North American paper business. TONY BLIXT will be Business Development Manager for Omya’s global paper business.

RICHARD ATKINSON has joined Pope & Talbot Inc. as VP and CFO, replacing MARIA POPE, who will lead the company’s wood products business. Atkinson has 23 years of experience with Sierra Pacific, and had been its CFO since Dec. 2002.

NorskeCanada appointed THOMAS S. CHAMBERS to the company’s board of directors. He is currently a financial advisor and director to a number of private and public companies and organizations. A partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for 26 years, he has also served on many councils and committees for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Canada and British Columbia.

Metso Corporation’s board of directors has decided to appoint JORMA ELORANTA as president and CEO of Metso Corporation, starting March 1, 2004. He is currently president and CEO of Kvaerner Masa-Yards Inc. Prior to his current position, he has been president and CEO of Patria Industries Group, deputy chief executive of Finvest Group and Jaakko Pyry Group as well as president of Finvest Oy.

Hercules Incorporated announced the election of CRAIG A. ROGERSON as president and CEO, effective immediately. He has been acting president and COO since October and was also elected to the Company’s Board of Directors.
