Interfor is taking the Mountain Pine Beetle into its own hands. Construction of new technology designed to improve efficiency and the cost structure of its Adams Lake sawmill is being undertaken in an attempt to address the devastation wreaked by the beetle.

Interfor is pouring $100 million into the project.

Designed by Antony-Seaman Ltd., the new technology will replace the current mill altogether, a recent report by the Daily Commercial News confirmed. Interfor will act as its own construction manager, and the project is expected to wrap up by the third quarter of 2009.
