A joint venture NorskeCanada and Norske Skog ASA undertook in 2001 is being dissolved. A move to directly market its specialty papers in North America will see NorskeCanada directing its energies to that market starting this fall.

The joint enterprise the two companies embarked upon was also designed to market the duo’s specialty paper products in North America. However, the companies reached a mutual decision that sales of their individual products will best be managed by their respective organizations. As of October 1st, 2005, the venture will be dissolved.

"NorskeCanada’s growth as a specialties producer over the past four years has positioned it to go to market on the strength of its own name and reputation," president and CEO Russell Horner said of the decision.
