CHARLES W. COKER, Sonoco’s division vice president and general manager of protective packaging, has been named division vice president and general manager of flexible packaging. A replacement for his former position has not yet been named.

Mercer International has appointed WERNER STUEBER to the position of vice president of technical support and pulp operations. The company additionally named WOLFRAM RIDDER as vice president, business development.

MeadWestvaco Corporation has named DONNA OWENS COX as vice president of communications. In this position she will assume responsibility for all aspects of communications, including public relations and internal communications.

Pap Group has named JACK HAWORTH service pricing and guide service systems coordinator for the group’s machinery division.

DAVID. C. STEVENS has retired from his position as senior vice president and general manager of Smurfit-Stone’s Recycling division. MICHAEL OSWALD, previously vice president of operations, succeeded him. Stevens worked in the paper industry for 50 years. Oswald has been in the recycling industry for 26 years and began his career with the company as a fibre coordinator.

Georgia-Pacific has named RICHARD URSCHEL president of its chemical business. He succeeds Mario Concha, who retired on August 31st.

Stora Enso announced that HANNU KASURINEN has been appointed senior vice president, specialty papers. He succeeds JOHN F. BERGIN, who will retire on January 1st, 2006.
