Glenn V. Ostle, vice president marketing and communications, Metso Paper, received the Paper Industry Managament Association’s Thomas F. Sheerin, Sr. Award for his outstanding service to the industry.

The Forest Stewardship Recognition Program honoured biologist Steve Hounsell of Ontario Power Generation for his leadership in global warming reforestation efforts in southern Ontario.

John Bergin, senior vice president, Specialty Papers Business Group will become a member of Stora Enso North America’s Executive Management Group.

Samoa Pacific Cellulose has named Brent A. Hawkins, to replace retiring Dr. Ernest Harvey, as president and member of the board of directors. Randy Rhodes was appointed executive vice president, and Frank Fitzpatrick was named president of the new division, Samoa Cane Enterprises.

Robert J. Pagano was appointed president of the Industrial Pump Group of ITT Industries.
