The CBC has reported the NB government may have a new buyer for the St. Anne Nackawic pulp mill.
New Brunswick’s Business Minister Peter Mesheau confirmed that he signed a memorandum of understanding with an interested company on October 20th. The agreement provides the company with exclusive rights to scout the mill for the next 30 days. According to the CBC, Mesheau said he’s met with company officials on more than one occasion and believes their interest in buying the mill to be genuine.

The province agreed to keep the company’s name confidential for the time being.
