Sappi has been rated South Africa’s most global company for a third year. With a ‘transnationality’ score of 74%, Sappi was presented with a trophy at South Africa’s Top Companies Global Awards 2004 banquet held in Johannesburg on October 11th. The awards recognize the efforts of South African companies that are internationally expanding their operations. Sappi previously won the award in 1999 and 2001 and has been in the top three in 2000, 2002 and 2003.

The United Nations has also recognized Sappi as South Africa’s most global company and the 10th biggest non-financial company from a developing economy by foreign assets.
