Spray Lake sawmills are developing harvest plans in response to the Mountain Pine Beetle. In a statement, the company confirmed that because its forest management agreement area encompasses a number of areas with highly susceptible pine stands, harvest plans are being developed for several areas west of Calgary.

Currently, the company is in the process of contacting affected stakeholders. Although all harvest plans will be in agreement with the Alberta Mountain Pine Beetle Action Plan, and all relevant government legislation, policy and regulation, as the plans are developed, opportunities will be made for public review and comment.
