MIAMISBURG, OH -NewPage Corporation announced the completion of the previously-announced acquisition of Stora Enso Oyj’s North American paper manufacturing operations.

MIAMISBURG, OH -NewPage Corporation announced the completion of the previously-announced acquisition of Stora Enso Oyj’s North American paper manufacturing operations.

The new organization will have approximately $4.3 billion in pro forma net sales for the last twelve months ended September 30, 2007, and exceptional platforms in the company’s core businesses including coated freesheet, coated groundwood, supercalendered and specialty papers.

Restructuring actions will include closures of specific paper machines and the products produced on the closed machines will be transitioned to more efficient paper machines within the company’s integrated mill system. NewPage also owns the Nova Scotia Port Hawkesbury mill.
