Paperboard made from 100% sugarcane bagasse fibres

July 19, 2018  By P&PC staff

July 19, 2018 – Veritiv Corporation is offering a paperboard-based packaging option made from 100 per cent sugarcane bagasse fibres. The fibres provide an annually renewable, tree-free fibre source that is both recyclable and compostable.

Veritiv, a North American leader in business-to-business distribution solutions, has teamed with Carvajal Pulp and Paper to market Earth Pact® paperboard.

Some Veritiv customers have already experienced the benefits of the Earth Pact® line of products. When one such customer, Biossance, with its brand promise of sustainability in skincare, sought new packaging, Veritiv offered a solution that reinforced Biossance’s brand promise and position with Earth Pact. Biossance needed not only sustainable paperboard but also structural and graphic package designs, kitting services, transportation, warehousing services, and more. With its network of approximately 170 distribution centres, Veritiv became the supplier. Biossance’s creative packaging won the coveted Audience Choice Award at the Cosmoprof North America Beauty Trade Show in 2017 and other major packaging awards.

With the Earth Pact line of products and designers at Veritiv’s packaging design centers, Veritiv is positioned to create new and sustainable package designs that stand out on the shelf, minimize dimensional weight and give customers an out-of-the box experience.
