Torrential rains that shut down Tembec’s five Temiscaming mills the week of July 15th didn’t cause as much damage as was anticipated, confirmed vice president of corporate relations, Charles Gagnon. "We were shut down for less than 24 hours," he said. Water damage to motors required the equipment to be dried out before being put back to use and some damage was caused by flooding in the wood rooms. However, the storms were not as costly as expected. "All in all we lost maybe $500-$680,000 in terms of lost time production," Gagnon affirmed.
