The unstable US housing market, a lack of reasonably priced logs and overall market declines have forced Tembec Industries (TSX:TMB) to shut down its sawmill in Barn, Quebec. The shutdown is expected to last for at least three months, starting March 31, 2008. The sawmill employs approximately 150 workers and has an annual production capacity of 110,000 Mfb of SPF lumber.
