Edmonton, AB — Alliance Refractories has filed a $3.6 million lawsuit against GTS Energy of Atlanta, GA, and Tolko Industries of Vernon, BC, according to a November 18 report by the Edmonton Sun. The Edmonton company filed a statement of claim on November 5, in which it accused GTS of failing to pay outstanding invoices for the supply and installation of refractory materials and services to be installed for Tolko at a project near Slave Lake. Alliance claims that GTS is refusing to pay $1.8 million still owing, and has also accused GTS and Tolko of conspiring to deprive Alliance of lawful compensation for work done.
