Boise Packaging & Newsprint is investing $22.6 million to add a shoe press to the D-1 linerboard machine at its packaging and newsprint mill in DeRidder, the Beauregard Daily News has reported.

This project represents our continued commitment to increase our presence in the containerboard marketplace and operate at world-class efficiency levels, The report confirmed Bob Strenge, vice president of Boise Packaging & Newsprint as saying.

The shoe press is expected to be installed by the spring of 2008.
