An $80 million capital investment will facilitate the conversion of roughly 200,000 metric tonnes of annual newsprint at Bowater’s Calhoun, TX mill to higher-margin specialty grades. The project is expected to wrap up by mid-2006 and to focus primarily on direct mail and related advertising markets. Once the project is finished, the mill will produce 465,000 tonnes of specialty grades and 300,000 tonnes of newsprint.
