Nexfor Inc. is the new name for Noranda Forest Inc. Its former parent, Noranda Inc., decided to spin off the company last year, in order to concentrate on the mining business.

Abitibi-Consolidated Inc.’s Office Products Division has inked a deal to sell its Toronto-based Axidata computer supplies distribution businesses to Miami Computer Supply Corp., Dayton, OH. The computer supply company reported annual revenues of $150 million (US).

Slocan Forest Product’s operations in the Slocan Valley received a clean bill of health from the Forest Practices Board, an independent agency, after an audit of its timber harvesting, forestry planning and other related practices.
