An ambition to expand its business to include the U.S. might see Canfor picking up any lumber operations International Paper decides to sell south of the Canadian border.

IP’s announcement last week that it plans to sell off close to 40% of its operating profits caught Canfor’s attention, however, IP has confirmed it won’t consider any offers until the early fall.
