The New Brunswick government has signed an agreement to sell the St. Anne-Nackawic pulp mill, Canadian Press has reported. Although the deal between Tembec and Aditya Birla Group is still subject to court approval, a process which is expected to be lengthy, CP confirmed that Minister of Finance Peter Mesheau is optimistic the mill will be able to re-open its doors by the fall.
October marked the impromptu closure of the mill. More than 400 people were put out of work as a result.
