Cascades Tissue Group has taken some major steps forward in its initiative to decrease the impact its activities have on the environment. The tissue product manufacturer has committed itself to acquire virgin pulp from certified sustainable sources, a move that Greenpeace considers instrumental in the protection of ancient forests. Presently, over 97 per cent of the company’s products are made from recycled fibers.

Greenpeace has released a Shopper’s Guide to Ancient Forest Friendly Tissue Products across the country that lists over 120 different products. The guide has been formatted in a manner that allows shoppers the option to select ancient forest friendly products when making their tissue product purchases. Cascades’ decision to procure its virgin pulp from certified sustainable sources has secured its products a listing in the positive ‘green’ category in the guide.
