Fraser Papers is also taking downtime at some if its sawmills.

As of April 2, the companys facilities in Juniper, NB and Ashland, ME were idled and will remain inoperative for roughly two and four weeks respectively, depending on market conditions. The companys sawmill in Masardis, also located in Maine, will increase production by adding a third shift and employing most of the employees from the Ashland operation.

These shutdowns affect approximately 180 employees.
