Fraser Papers has temporarily shut down its Plaster Rock and Juniper sawmills in New Brunswick. October 14 marked the beginning of what is expected to be a two-week long hiatus at both facilities. In the meantime, 340 employees are out of a job.

The company cited weak market conditions for the decision.
