Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, announced 85 new appointments to the Order of Canada, including FSC Canada’s chair of the board of directors, Clifford Wallis from the Alberta Wilderness Association (AWA).

FSC Canada explains in a press statement that the Order of Canada is one of the country’s highest honours. Since its creation in 1967, the Order of Canada has recognized people across all sectors of society who have made extraordinary and sustained contributions to the nation.

Cliff Wallis was given this award for his dedication to advancing nature conservation and restoration in Alberta, as an esteemed biologist and naturalist.
