Kevin Edgson, president and CEO for Canfor Pulp, is exiting his role.

Canfor Pulp announced the leadership transition in a late day release. Edgson is expected to leave the company at the end of October.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Kevin for his significant contributions in the role of president and CEO since 2022,” said Canfor Pulp board chair John Baird in a release.

“Kevin has worked through a number of challenges including a reduction in fibre supply in B.C. and fluctuating market conditions while transitioning Canfor Pulp to a smaller operational footprint.

“We are grateful for his leadership and appreciate his efforts to transform the company during his tenure.”

Canfor said its board is in the process of selecting a successor and will share more details in the coming weeks.

Canfor Pulp is a global supplier of pulp and paper products with operations in the northern interior of B.C. It operates two mills in Prince George with a total capacity of 780,000 tonnes of Premium Reinforcing Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp and 140,000 tonnes of kraft
paper.
