February 26, 2024  By P&PC Staff

Diversifying forestry’s workforce is a pressing business issue for companies of all sizes across Canada. Encouraging women and people of all backgrounds to consider a career in the forest industry will mean big changes to how companies recruit, train, and retain their employees.

Pulp & Paper Canada, Canadian Forest Industries, Canadian Biomass and Opérations Forestières et de Scierie are once again hosting a digital day of discussion around gender and diversity in the forest sector.

Join us on March 8 at 11 am ET as we welcome back hundreds of forestry changemakers – women and men who are looking for inspiration and advice on fostering inclusion in our industry and reaping all the innovation that comes from it.

This year’s summit will again be truly national, with speakers from across Canada and French-English simultaneous interpretation available for all presentations.

On the agenda:

  • Diversity in the Canadian forest sector: Trends, actions, and results
  • Panel: Branching out – Cultivating change in the forest sector
  • Fireside chat: Indigenous inclusion, leadership and values in forestry
  • Mentorship and workforce development in the forest and conservation sector
  • Panel: Q&A – Ask the boss
  • Uniting leadership on inclusion at FSC in North America
