Kemira closes manufacturing lines due to the ongoing political strikes in Finland

Kemira shared in a press statement that due to ongoing political strikes ion Finland, its manufacturing lines in Oulu, Äetsä and Harjavalta serving pulp and paper customers will stop production during the week of April 3. Kemira’s Kuusankoski manufacturing site was shut down already earlier in March.

The long continued political strikes significantly harm the whole of Kemira’s value chain’s operations, states the company. It adds that it must adapt the manufacturing operations due to the extraordinary situation. Due to the production shut down, certain employees will be impacted, notes Kemira.

The company adds that it will continue personal, process and environmental safety procedures 24/7 in all its manufacturing sites. It will also ensure the security of the supply of critical products at all times.
