DMI’s former Peace River mill changes its name to Mercer Peace River Pulp

February 1, 2019 – Daishowa-Marubeni International (DMI)’s Peace River Pulp Division, which was part of a recent acquisition by Mercer International, has formally changed its name to Mercer Peace River Pulp Ltd.

Mercer Peace River Pulp will continue to operate in its current structure.

Mercer purchased all shares of DMI, Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. and Marubeni Corporation in fall 2018, including assets for the Peace River pulp mill in Peace River, Alberta, a 50 per cent ownership of the Cariboo pulp and paper mill in Quesnel, British Columbia, and a 50 per cent interest in the Peace River Logging Corporation and associated Limited Partnership, a joint venture with the Woodland Cree First Nation.
