Amidst all the controversy concerning the softwood lumber agreement, the Coast Forest Products Association has pledged its support to the deal.
“It’s not a perfect deal, but hopefully it will create the opportunity for the industry to continue to rebuild itself,” said Rick Jeffrey, president. “However, it is up to every individual company to make it’s own decisions on whether or not to support this deal, based on each company’s unique circumstances,” he added.

The BC government also recently approved the amended deal, contending that its outstanding concerns have been addressed.
