Stora Enso president and CEO receives TAPPI/PIMA 2023 Executive of the Year award

TAPPI named Annica Bresky, president and CEO of Stora Enso as the recipient of the TAPPI/PIMA Executive of the Year award.

“Being selected as the TAPPI/PIMA Executive of the Year is a great honour,” said Bresky. “ For nearly 60 years, TAPPI has meticulously selected the winners of this prestigious award and I am deeply honoured to join the ranks of some our industry’s best and most respected leaders.”

Bresky took over as CEO of Stora Enso in December 2019. She has served as a member of the group leadership team since joining the company in 2017. Before assuming her current position, she was executive vice-president of Stora Enso’s consumer board division. Prior to joining Stora Enso, she held various executive leadership positions, including president and CEO of Iggesund Paperboard AB in 2013-2017 and managing director at BillerudKorsnäs AB from 2010-2013.

In addition to her unwavering focus on implementing processes that further develop Stora Enso’s strategies, values and commitment to renewable packaging and sustainability, she also fosters a culture of empowerment and positive energy,” said TAPPI president and CEO Larry N. Montague.

Bresky is a board member of the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI), the Swedish Forest Industries Federation (Skogsindustrierna), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Ørsted A/S. She is also a member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) and the Executive Committee of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

The award will be officially presented at TAPPICon, April 22-26, 2023 in Atlanta, GA.
