More than 1 million Tembec-owned hectares received official Forest Stewardship Council Certification in the Temiscaming region of Quebec.
“The certification of this section of mixed wood forest is indeed a great accomplishment, given the complexity of the management required and the great number of stakeholders involved,” said CEO James Lopez.
The certification of forest regions 081-21 and 081-22 brings the total area under FSC certification to a total of 7.4 million hectares of Canadian forest, or 71% of forestland, managed by Tembec.
