West Fraser is cutting production at its sawmills in BC. According to a recent report by the Prince George Citizen, the cuts are temporary and will primarily occur over the holiday period.

The company has not specified which of its facilities in the northern and central part of the province will be impacted, the report confirmed. However, West Fraser did confirm the curtailments will reduce roughly 35 million board feet in BC. This is in addition to the 435 million board feet cut the company has already implemented at its sawmills in BC and Alberta.

 

Weak market conditions were cited as necessitating the cuts.
