TAPPI names Dale Midyette to 2019 Fellows

June 25, 2019 – The Technical Association of the Pulp & Paper Industry (TAPPI) recently inducted Dale Midyette, a senior process engineer at Jacobs, as a TAPPI Fellow.

The announement took place during the annual PaperCon conference in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Fellow is an honorary title bestowed upon a small percentage of TAPPI’s membership and is given to individuals who have made outstanding technical or service contributions to the industry and/or the association.

Midyette has been with Jacobs for over three decades and is a pulp and paper subject matter expert and senior process engineer. Prior to that, he was with American Cyanamid and Colloids Inc. He attended North Carolina State University and holds a B.S. in Pulp and Paper Science and Technology.

As a TAPPI member, Midyette has served in key roles on three TAPPI divisions, including the coating and graphic arts division and engineering division while currently serving as secretary of the paper and board division.

Midyette and his wife Pat have been married for 35 years and have three children and two grandchildren. He currently serves as an elder at Holland Park Church in Mauldin, South Carolina.

Each year, the association may elect members as TAPPI Fellows in recognition of meritorious service to the association and the industry. The title Fellow is also conferred upon TAPPI board chairs, vice-chairs, and directors at the end of their terms of office, and upon Gunnar Nicholson Gold Medal awardees and Herman L. Joachim Distinguished Service recipients.
