The month of July is set to be a bit more expensive, with $20/metric ton northern bleached softwood kraft pulp price increases announced by Domtar, Georgia-Pacific, Canfor, AbitibiBowater, Alberta Pacific and Marubeni Pulp & Paper North America.

According to a recent report by Purchasingdata.com, while buyers rejected price-hike proposals for the month of June, NBSK prices will shoot up to $900 next month, while SBSK prices will increase to $860 for Domtar, Georgia-Pacific and AbitibiBowater.

Purchasingdata.com further reported that AbitibiBowater, Georgia-Pacific and Weyerhaeuser are looking to up fluff pulp prices by $50/metric ton, after five months of steady prices at $900.
