Resolute Forest Products wins an International Business Award

Resolute Forest Products has won a Stevie in the 20th Annual International Business Awards (IBAs) competition: a gold award in the category of Sustainability Product of the Year (Canada and the U.S.A.). The company states that the award recognizes its novel cellulose filaments produced at the new plant located in our Kénogami paper mill in Saguenay (Quebec). Other contenders in this year’s awards program were Coca-Cola, Telus and Toyota, among others.

Comments from the judges on Resolute’s corporate social responsibility program included:

  • “This submission serves well to document the attention, commitment, and investments that have gone into developing an exciting range of solutions that could replace single-use plastics and possibly improve on the performance of existing high-carbon construction materials.”
  • “Very innovative application of biomaterial in making enhancements in quality of concrete outputs and at the same time playing vital role in being ecofriendly and sustainability enhancing pursuit.”  
  • “Great strategy focus on the sustainability, based on a balanced approach to environmental, social and economic aspects. Good job!”

The IBAs are an international, all-encompassing business awards program recognizing outstanding performance in the workplace worldwide. The 2023 IBAs received entries from organizations in 61 nations and territories, and over 200 professionals from around the world determined the winners.
