Sdra picks GL&V for fibreline upgrade at Mrrum

Södra Cell has appointed GL&V to supply a major upgrade of the softwood pulp line at its Mörrum mill. GL&V will be responsible for screening and washing equipment in the unbleached area of the softwood pulp line. 

Södra recently announced that its would spend SEK 700 million for a comprehensive refurbishment of the pulp mill at Mörrum.
Investing in a new screen room and brown-stock washing is fundamental for the development of the Mörrum mill.

GL&V is part of the GLV Group, a Quebec-based international supplier to the pulp and paper and water treatment sectors.

Södra Cell has chosen Valmet to supply the equipment for the planned expansion at its pulp mill in Mörrum. The investments in Mörrum will increase production capacity from 380,000 tpy to 425 000 tpy of pulp. The Mörrum mill produces both softwood pulp and dissolving pulp (textile pulp).

Valmet will supply the equipment, as well as supplying and installing two debarking lines; one for softwood chip production and one for hardwood chip production with associated bark handling. The order also includes conveyors and conveyor belts for connection to existing chip stacks and bark stores. Valmet values the order at approximately SEK 190 million.
