SolarFlow Green from Voith is a suction press roll cover certified according to DIN CERTCO for biobased products.

Voith shares in a press statement that its recently developed SolarFlow Green, Voith is setting a standard for paper manufacturing products made of renewable raw materials. The suction press roll cover is certified according to the internationally recognized DIN CERTCO standard for bio-based products.

The cover reportedly combines all the advantages of the proven SolarFlow technology while simultaneously reducing the carbon footprint. This innovation is in line with Voith’s commitment and ambitious goals to promote sustainability in both paper manufacturing and its own production.

SolarFlow Green is a polyurethane roll cover that features a maximum void volume that remains constant over a long operating period.

The polyurethane material with its biobased component also gives the press roll cover a high degree of stability that can withstand extreme nip conditions. This enables not only fast machine speeds with a high dry content but also low energy consumption at the same time.

The sustainability of Voith’s own activities is a main emphasis of its “Papermaking for Life” sustainability program. As part of its innovation and development offensive, Voith Paper is introducing a wide range of technologies and initiatives that will lead to more efficient and sustainable processes in paper production.
