FSC Canada appoints new forest management coordinator

FSC Canada has appointed Lauren Chisholm as its new forest management coordinator. Chisholm begins her new role on August 28, 2023, and is based out of Revelstoke, B.C.

Chisholm will be working with FSC Canada’s forest management team on the development and revision of FSC forest-related standards (National Forest Stewardship Standard and National Risk Assessment) and related tools that support the implementation and monitoring of these standards.

Chisholm enjoyed working in silviculture and operations as an assistant forester on the Forest Management team at Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve. Through her subsequent work experience in Northern Ontario and in British Columbia, she found her main interests lie in forest policy and the advancement of social equity, particularly in upholding the rights of Indigenous Peoples in natural resources management.
